She appeared one day and seemed intent on staying. Friendly, quiet and tag-less, I wondered what could have brought her to my doorstep. After a quick trip into town for a checkup by the local vet and some doggy supplies, we returned to my as yet unfinished house. I needed a name for her while she was in my care – Galadriel – yes, that had a nice ring.
As an added bonus, she could be my watchdog, as it were; though her gentle demeanour would in all probability, not have deterred anyone. Within a few days I managed to locate her owners, who lived on a farm a few kilometres away. The reunion was somewhat bittersweet though, as their male, who had gotten loose at the same time, never did return.
